This project is a satirical take on the negative stereotypes of scousers and the working class, presenting a collection of ephemera that forms a crimeboard family-tree that explores the culture of pub glass “theft”, specifically focussed on my familial association with this culture.
Although parts have been exaggerated and or fabricated, I was influenced by mine and my dad's real tradition of taking pub glasses, as well as my late grandad’s sticky fingers - a lot of which was only revealed after his death. In a way, it feels like a
memorial service to him.
Due to the colour and aesthetic limitations of this project, I experimented using different mediums to emphasise the passage of time between each “crime”. Laser cutters were used to engrave the raccoon calling card symbol onto the pint glasses.
